“For the LORD your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He knows your going through this great wilderness. These forty years the LORD your God has been with you.
You have lacked nothing“‘ (Deuteronomy 2)
A very timely word followed by an insightful email from my daughter this day:
“We’ve been learning at church recently (and of course it keeps coming up in my daily life) that God likes to use the broken and who the world would consider “useless” to do the work. Think about it….David (the youngest most unlikely character) becomes the man after God’s own heart….Moses, an 80+-year-old man who had to go through a lot of humbling experiences to bring him to a place where he could be used…and he still wasn’t really the greatest at it…the list goes on. The reason God uses these people is because it makes it so much more obvious that its God’s work and not our own. [bold mine]
You are right where God wants you to be. It’s not comfortable and its extremely humbling to find ourselves in over our heads, or even unrecognized against those who are younger, “smarter”, more “with it”, etc. But God knows and He is looking for obedient hearts and a willingness to let His light shine above all.
I love you mom and am excited for where God has you and Dad. Enjoy the ride…God has you right where He wants you and He’ll be made great no matter what.”
He’ll be made great no matter what
